NCJW will once again partner with JFCS to fight illiteracy in our community with the Take A Look–Buy a Book–Donate campaign. The book collection for 2017 was so successful that NCJW collected over 800 books of the over 2000 books donated!! Thank you for your generous donations!
The books donated this year were distributed to children served through JFCS programs: The Healthy Families, Healthy Fathers, Family Homelessness Prevention, Operation Military Assistance and school-based programs. Books were also distributed to children at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and the police department.
The NCJW book club will again chair the book drive to aid in the fight to end illiteracy here where we live. The joy of owning a book will most certainly have a positive impact on the children.
The scheduled collection of new books for children Pre K to Grade 5 will be in February and March, but books may be purchased earlier from an Amazon Wish list created specially for this program. To purchase a book via the Amazon Wish list simply link your web browser to the following link: https://amzn.com/w/12RWWS8151FX14
Our committee eagerly looks forward to receiving your books at any time; so if you see it, buy it!
If you have any suggestions to help make this an even more successful book drive for children at risk, or you have questions, please do not hesitate to email me at: Barbara@aferiat.com or call: 941-923-8160
Thank you, I know we all feel great knowing we can and we do help to make a difference in our community.
